About

I’ve always liked the idea of self-improvement. I’ve gone through phases of reading self-help books and I used to love “life hacks” and any shortcut to improvement or success.

Over the years I’ve come to realise that self-help books are 95% rubbish and life hacks are pushed by people wanting clicks, subscribers and sales.

I’ve been taking a steadier, more incremental approach to self-improvement. Once I accepted that get rich quick schemes and overnight success stories are only for when you’re desperate, I loved the slow, consistent improvement and benefits I started to see.

My wife and I found out we were expecting our first child and I wanted to take the same approach. Do the right things. Keep productive and give things a good amount of attention and awareness without overdoing it and risking burning out.

My wife has struggled through the pregnancy and needs support more than ever. This approach is what keeps me balanced, well and not panicked while I give attention to all the things that need me right now.

I’ve never documented my life the way I have been lately and it does help organise my thoughts. That’s why I started this blog and I’m sure I’ll love looking back at it in the future. If it’s of help to anyone else, that’s a bonus.
